The 1st winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Thursday 28th April 1814 over the Ditch Mile course, was Charlotte (11/5 fav), a bay filly by Orville out of Sophia, owned by Mr Charles Wilson. A field of 5 runners contested the race which was worth £1,155 (Equivalent to £73,900 in 2017)
